Police Reports: Week of July 6

DUI in Worcester, thefts in Schwenksville and Worcester

Editor's note: The following items include information provided by the Skippack Barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

DUI on North Whitehall Road

Nicholas A. DeCarlo, a 22-year-old Norristown resident, was arrested for DUI on June 30, according to a report by the Pennsylvania State Police.

The report states that DeCarlo was traveling southbound on North Whitehall Road in his 2003 Chevrolet Malibu. After failing to negotiate a curve due to high speeds and a wet roadway, he went off the roadway and struck a utility pole, breaking it in half. 

According to the report, after showing signs of impairment during a police interview, police administered a field sobriety test and DeCarlo was arrested for DUI.

Charges will be filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge Albert J. Augustine.

Cigarettes Stolen from Vehicle in Schwenksville

Michael Chadwick, a 40-year-old male from the 600 block of Neiffer Road in Schwenksville, reported that the driver side window of his work truck was smashed out and a pack of cigarettes was stolen from his car, while parked outside of his residence on June 27, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

The report states that the suspect -- or suspects -- fled in an unknown direction after the theft.  Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Skippack at 610-584-1250 and reference incident number K03-1860200.

Eight Vehicles Robbed in Worcester

Between 11 p.m. on June 28 and 6:40 a.m. on June 29, eight cars were broken into on Chadwick Circle and Dunkirk Court in Worcester, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

The report states that the suspect -- or suspects -- used a large rock to break the window of one vehicle, while others were left unlocked by the victims. The suspect(s) made off with the contents of one wallet, miscellaneous cash and change, and an Ipod Nano.
