Perkiomen Child Porn Possessor Pleads Guilty

Detectives allege that video files depicting sexual assaults on toddlers were found in the 22-year-old man's computer.

Richard John Lovett, 22, has admitted to posessing child pornography on his home computer in Perkiomen Township, according to a report from Main Line Media News.

Lovett, of the 400 block of Rahns Road, pleaded guilty in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas to felony charges of sexual abuse of children-possessing child pornography, for which he faces 3.5 to seven years in prison

According to court records, Lovett was charged in 2012 with two counts of disseminating photos or films of child sex acts, nine counts of child pornography, and one count of criminal use of communication facility.

County detectives began an investigation on Lovett when his computer address was identified as a potential download source during a search of child pornography sharers, according to the article.

Detectives allege they located video files depicting female or male toddlers being sexually assaulted by adults, and 26 videos depicting children under 16 years of age engaging in sexual acts or posing naked in sexually explicit manners.

Prior to sentencing, Lovett will undergo an evaluation to determine if he meets the criteria under Megan’s Law to be declared a sexually violent predator, which requires a lifetime registration on the Sex Offender Registry, according to the Megan’s Law Website
