That accident occurred on Route 73 and Plank Road in Skippack Township.

A Gilbertsville man was hospitalized after a traffic light pole fell on his vehicle during a crash at Route 73 and Plank Road in Skippack Township just after noon on May 19, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Christopher Matthew Czajka, 32, was traveling west on Route 73 in a Chrysler Sebring when he swerved to the right to avoid a stopped Hyundai Sonata, driven by Kelly Whalen of Harleysville, in the left westbound lane of Route 73 waiting to turn onto Plank Road, police said.

Czajka drove off the right side of the road and hit a traffic light pole, which fell on top of the vehicle, crashing his convertible roof and trapping him, according to police.

Czajka was trapped inside the vehicle, police said, and was taken to Paoli hospital after being removed from the vehicle; his vehicle was towed.
