Local Teen Found Safe After Being Abducted by Ex-Boyfriend, Police Say

John Emrich, 21, faces charges of stalking, false imprisonment and harassment.

An Upper Frederick teen was found unharmed on Wednesday after allegedly being abducted by her 21-year old boyfriend, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

At 5:30 p.m., a female called Pennsylvania State Police, Skippack Barracks to report that her sister was possibly taken from their Rockhill Road home against her will by her ex-boyfriend, John Emrich, 21, of Mertztown, Pa.

Police say that text messages from the victim allegedly indicated that the victim was being held against her will far from her home; all contact with the victim was lost before police were contacted.

Police attempted to locate the victim and her Emrich at several locations in the area; they were located in Forkston, Wyoming County, around 9:30 p.m. by Troop P Tunkhannock Station State Troopers.

The victim, who was found unharmed, reported that she willingly entered Emrich’s vehicle, but was taken against her will to Wyoming County.

Emrich was charged with stalking, false imprisonment and harassment after the incident, and was remanded to the Wyoming County Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail.

According to court documents, Emrich is currently out on $20,000 bail for allegedly attempting to steal a Ford Mustang in Macungie in September, going so far as to spray-paint it and switch license plates.
