LA Fitness Locker Thefts Reported in Collegeville, Pottstown

Eight locks were pried open or cut off in three gym clubs, including the Downingtown location; cell phones, wallets and cash were stolen.

The Downingtown Police Department has confirmed several locker thefts at LA Fitness gym locations in Collegeville, Pottstown and Downingtown on Wednesday evening.

Around 7:15 pm, Downingtown Police received a report that three locks had been cut off of lockers in the men's locker room. The male victims lost a wallet with credit cards, $150 in cash, and two iPhones, one of which included an Otter Box and was valued at $600.

Upper Providence Township Police refused to provide any information relating to the ongoing investigation in the Collegeville LA Fitness. An employee of the club confirmed that a similar instance to the other locations occurred - two men's lockers were broken into and valuables were stolen.

West Pottsgrove Police reported that three locks were pried open and valuables were stolen from two of the lockers.

All three police departments are working together, along with LA Fitness staff, to review the members who checked into each club around the time of the thefts, according to Downingtown Police.
