Pennsburg man to be charged for DUI after his car struck a tree

Blaine Hurrey, 41, was arrested on Hendricks Road in Marlborough Township after showing signs of intoxication when his car struck a tree, according to the .

The report states that Hurrey, of Pennsburg, was traveling a 2004 Ford Ranger northbound on Hendricks Road, 100 yards south of Geryville Pike just after 1 am on Aug. 21.  The vehicle was traveling to fast to negotiate a curve, and he ran left the east edge of the roadway and struck a tree.

There was severe damage to the vehicle, which was towed by William Penn Green Lane Towing Company.

Hurrey, who was able to free himself and walk out to the roadway, showed signs of alcohol impairment, according to police.  He failed field sobriety tests and was transported to PSP Skippack Barracks for a chemical test.

Charges will be filed in District Court 38-2-02 for DUI and related traffic charges.
