DUI Charge Pending After Township Line Road Crash: Police

The vehicle hit the tree so hard on Tuesday that its engine dismantled and landed across the road, according to police.

A female driver in her 20’s could be charged with DUI after crashing so hard into a Perkiomen Township tree Tuesday night that her engine dismantled from the vehicle and flew across the road, according to Limerick Township Police.

The woman was driving South on Township Line Road near Seitz Road at the time, and ”obviously was traveling at a high rate of speed on slick roadways,” police said.

After the crash, police allegedly found drug paraphernalia — a glass bowl — in the car, and the driver admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day. The driver was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital to give blood.
