A mother and her two young children were injured Thursday evening in a two car collision on Ridge Pike in Upper Providence Township.

The mother and children were from "the Collegeville area," Reynolds said.

Reynolds said the male driver of the second car, a 17-year-old from Lansdale, was not injured. His car was traveling westbound on Ridge Pike when he attempted to make a left turn into the Court at Upper Providence shopping plaza shortly after 6:30 p.m.

His car crossed in front of the woman's vehicle, which was headed eastbound.

The teen's blue Ford Focus came to rest in the middle of the roadway, pointed eastbound.

The other driver's car left the roadway and came to rest on a sidewalk on the south side of the road, both with heavy front-end damage.

Limerick Township Police, Trappe Fire, and Trappe Ambulance were visible assisting Upper Providence Police at the scene at 7:30 p.m. Ridge Pike was closed between Township Line Road and Kline Road while police conducted the crash investigation.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this article mistakenly stated that both vehicles were traveling westbound at the time of the accident.
