Collegeville Teen Charged After Skippack Crash

A Collegeville boy was charged for driving too fast in wet conditions, causing a crash that injured two passengers and himself.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, a 17-year-old Collegeville boy was charged with driving too fast for conditions when his vehicle, carrying three other teen boys, struck a utility pole just before 3 p.m. on Oct. 2.

The vehicle was traveling south on Perkiomen Creek Road, and hit the utility pole when the driver was attempting to turn left onto Mountain Top Drive. It was raining, and the driver was traveling too fast for the conditions, according to police.

Three of the four boys were injured - two from Collegeville, one from Schwenksville - and the boy's 1995 Toyota Camry was towed from the scene, according to the report.
