Collegeville Boy Drove Drunk with Four Passengers, Weapons, Police Say

The passengers, four local boys, were charged with underage drinking.

Five local teens were arrested in Schwenksville after their vehicle was pulled over by Pennsylvania State Police just before 11:30 on Sept. 14.

According to police, the driver, a 16-year-old from Collegeville, was stopped at Main and Centennial streets for a traffic violation while driving a 1987 Ford Mustang.

The teen was unable to complete standard field sobriety tests, according to police, and was taken to Einstein Hospital for a legal blood draw.

Four other teens were in the car; two 16-year-olds from Collegeville, a 17-year-old from Collegeville, and a 17-year-old from Skippack.  Police said the passengers were in possession of a controlled substance, and had consumed alcohol.

The passengers will be charged with underage drinking, according to police.

The driver of the vehicle will be charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia and possession of a prohibited offensive weapon.
