Update: Collegeville Woman Accidentally Drives Car into House

No one injured

A Collegeville woman hit the gas instead of the brake and accidentally drove into her Third Avenue house instead of the garage, according to Officer John Barnshaw.

Joan Spear was traveling up the driveway and made a wide turn to enter the garage. She was not injured, and she is the home's only occupant.

The home's double front doors were knocked in, and the house also suffered some interior damage.

Borough code enforcement will inspect the home to decide if and when it will be inhabitable again, Barnshaw said. DeWane's towed the vehicle from the scene, and Total Restoration boarded up the house.

, Lower Providence Fire Co. and also responded to the scene.
