Boyertown Man Cited in Crash that Injured Collegeville Woman

The accident occurred on Gravel Pike in Perkiomen Township.

A Boyertown man has been cited for careless driving after he allegedly crashed into a vehicle driven by a Collegeville woman, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Gary Lee Urmy, of Boyertown, was traveling south on Gravel Pike in Perkiomen Township in a 2006 Ford F150 on Jan. 29 around 1 p.m., when Betty J. Hipple, of Collegeville, was waiting to make a left turn in the southbound land in her 2007 Honda Ridgeline, according to police.

Urmy, 50, failed to stop, police said, which caused his vehicle to crash into Hipple’s at the 500 block of Gravel Pike.

Both vehicles were damaged and Hipple was injured, according to police.

Both vehicles were towed by Norm’s Save Station in Graterford, and the Perkiomen Fire Co. and Trappe Ambulance assisted at the scene.
