Obituary: George D. Hobensack of Skippack

Hobensack's body was found in his Fort Bevon Road home following a fire in the early hours of Jan. 1.

GEORGE HOBENSACK George D. Hobensack, 47, of Skippack, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 1, 2013.

He was the beloved husband of Christine (Flannery) Hobensack. Born October 5, 1965 in Abington, he was a son of George and Kathleen (Reilly) Hobensack, of Lake Harmony, PA. George was self-employed as a floor covering professional for many years.

He graduated from William Tennent High School in 1984 and went on to attend the University of Kentucky.

George was an avid golfer and Philadelphia sports fan.

Most of all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and uncle. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his daughter, Scarlett Hobensack; step-daughter, Tara Ebert; brothers, Jim Hobensack and his wife, Sarah of Warminster, and Mike Hobensack of Philadelphia; his nieces and nephews, Shane, Taylor, and Morgan Hobensack, and Tyler and Kelly Simmons; and a large extended family.

Relatives and friends may call after 6PM Monday, January 7 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 7PM. Burial will be private in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. A fund is being established to assist the family.
