OBIT: John P. 'Jack' McDermott of Linfield

Services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spring City in the Spring.

The following information was provided by the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home:

John P. "Jack" McDermott, of LinfieldPA passed away peacefully on Jan. 11 2014 after a lengthy illness. Born February 6, 1941, he was predeceased by his parents, John P. and Agnes (Whelan) McDermott and his brother, Frank (Susan Kennedy) McDermott, of Willow GrovePA. 

He leaves behind his loving wife, Toni (Ciccaglione); Children, Jack (Jenny) McDermott, of Tempe, AZ and Jennifer (Steve) Waters, of Audubon, PA, grandchildren, Colin McDermott and Sarah and Daniel Jack Waters; siblings, Jim (Pat) McDermott, of Warrington and Margaret Gurba, of Harvey, LA; sisters-in-law, Patty (Joe, dec.) Pandiscia, of Cary, NC and Ginger (John) Flynn, of Berlin, CT; brothers-in-law, Butch Ciccaglione, of Hartford, CT and Greg (Debbie) Ciccaglione, of Rocky Hill CT; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will miss his sharp wit and rich Irish sense of humor. His basset hound, Jagger, is heartbroken. 

Jack retired after 30 years from Certainteed, St. Gobain, after serving in the Army post graduation from LaSalle College. He was an avid golfer, photographer and history buff.

The family would like the thank Jefferson Hospice for their compassionate and attentive care, special friends, Patty Brooks and Maureen and Bill Grajewski, for their tireless support and loving friendship.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jack's name to a charity of your choice. A memorial mass and service will be held at St. Joseph's RC Church, Spring City, in the Spring when life is renewed. Details are pending. Jack would want you to lift a manhattan in his memory and dance like no one is watching.
