LONGHORNS CHEER SET TO DEFEND CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES!

Collegeville: Cheerleading Commissioner Meg Adams intensely studied the Longhorns Pee Wee competitive cheer squad practice their routine one last time before the Bux-Mont Championships scheduled for Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Quakertown High School.  At the completion of the routine, Commissioner Adams stated confidently, "They are ready".   Meg knows what she is talking about.  Over the past four years, the Longhorns program boasts 4 Bux-Mont Competitive Cheer  Championships, 2 Pop Warner Eastern Qualifier first place finishes, and in 2012, fell only points away from earning a trip to Disneyworld for the Pop Warner National Championships.

The road to Disneyworld begins this Sunday for the Longhorns cheerleaders!  Pop Warner and ESPN has announced that the National Championships will be broadcasted on the ESPN family of networks!  ESPN now is the only network to televise the NCAA, High School Federation, and Pop Warner National Competitive Cheer and Dance competitions!

The Longhorns will perform as scheduled:

      Tiney Mites, 10:45 a.m.
      Midgets, 1:25 p.m.
      Mitey Mites, 3:00 p.m.
      Pee Wees, 3:25 p.m.

Pop Warner cheerleaders are student athletes.  In addition to providing encouragement and spirit during game day, the cheer squads compete in the Pop Warner competitive cheerleading competitions.  The cheer squads perform routines that at the older age groups are considered as acrobatics and tumbling at most NCAA programs.  Pop Warner cheerleaders are also eligible for academic recognition and scholarships, the same as the football players.
