CHEER CHAMPIONSHIPS, FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS, & HOMECOMING WEEKEND!!

COLLEGEVILLE:  There isn't a better time of the football season than right now!  The Longhorns Competitive Cheer squads both won their divisions at the Bux-Mont Championships this past weekend!  The Longhorns have won an unprecedented six League Championships in the past four seasons!  The Midget squad (who also won the Spirit Award), will be competing in the Eastern Region Finals in Albany, New York on November 17th.  The Pee Wee Cheer squad will be competing in the Eastern Region Finals at the Sun Center in Newark, New Jersey on November 10th.  The Longhorns cheerleaders will be competing against the best cheer squads from New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.  The winners advance to the National Championships in Disneyworld on December 8th!

The 105 Pound Division 4 football team will host a first round playoff game on Saturday, October 19th at 2:00 p.m.  The 105 Pound Division 1 football team hosts Pennridge at noon on Saturday for what amounts to a playofff game.  The winner advances to the Bux-Mont playoffs.

Homecoming Weekend is this weekend as well!  Before each game, the parents, grandparents, and special people are invited to come out onto the field and greet their favorite player or cheerleader at our 50 yard line!  Each year, the children present a gift to their parents in appreciation for all of their sacrifices!  Please come to the field hungry, as we have specialty items at our snackstand and Big Dutts BBQ will have their grills going serving Beef Brisk, Pulled Pork, Wings, and other mouthwatering sandwiches.

The 120 Pound team hosts Quakertown at 4:00 p.m.  The 2013 Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at halftime!  Also at halftime, Longhorns alumni currently playing varsity football at area high schools will be recognized for their awesome accomplishments.  The players will be from Perkiomen Valley High School, Spring-Ford High School, and Pope John Paul II High School!!

At 6:00 p.m., Flag Night begins!  The Flag teams will take the field for games and competitions under the lights!  I encourage all of Longhorns Nation to cheer the boys on and to check out the talent of the next generation of Longhorns Football players!

The bonfire will close out our evening!  Always a favorite of the children, the bonfire is also a great time to meet and greet all of the members of Longhorns Nation and to trade stories about an awesome 2013 season!

The Longhorns are boys and girls age 5 to 15 who compete in Pop Warner football and competitive cheerleading.  Our home field is right behind our main sponsor, the Trappe VFW on Route 113.  Just look for the tank!!
