Democrat wants FCC to stifle Fox News
A Democrat challenging Republican House Majority Whip Eric Cantor in Virginia is urging the Federal Communications Commission to clamp down on the Fox News Channel.
“Fox News does nothing but tell lies and mistruths. They have unqualified political analysts,” said Mike Dickinson in a Twitter message reported by Twitchy.com.
“We need FCC to monitor and regulate them,” he said Monday.

Dickson said in a further tweet that Fox News is an “opinion channel” and “not news.”
“They lie and distort everything to fit their opinion,” he asserted.

Fox News host Sean Hannity, Dickinson also tweeted, is no more qualified as a political analyst than a house cat.
The FCC, meanwhile, is drawing fire from the right for proposing that radio and television stations be monitored to ensure they are airing “unbiased” stories and programs.
An Obama administration plan would put government researchers in newsrooms across the country.
The stated purpose is to “identify and understand the critical information needs of the American public, with special emphasis on vulnerable-disadvantaged populations,” the FCC said.
An FCC commissioner, Ajit Pai, however, warned in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece that that the plan would “grill reporters, editors and station owners about how they decide which stories to run.”
Gun owners like ‘little kids’
Dickinson has been feeding the Twitter fires this week on gun control as well.
On Wednesday, he compared gun owners to children and called for guns to be titled and registered like automobiles.
“Gun owners are like little kids right now. They all the rights but none of the responsibility (sic). With rights comes responsibility,” he said.
Dickinson also wants sellers of weapons to be held responsible for any weapon used in a crime.
