An upclose look at the faces and food of the Collegeville Farmers' Market

Patch photographer Kristen McMaster-Heffintrayer stopped in at the Collegeville Farmers' Market on Saturday morning, where she was greeted by the smiling faces of local residents and vendors.

Check out her photo gallery, and feel free to add to it by uploading your own! Did we catch you in our lens?

Great photos of our market and products, not to mention the smiling faces of all of our friendly vendors! Thanks, Kristen! Thanks, Patch!

how do I get a stand at the market? What does it cost?

Hi Carol - Here is a response from Maureen: We are a producer/grower market so to be a vendor at our market you must make or grow what you sell within 100 miles of Collegeville. The cost of a booth for a season (about 30 Saturdays) is $200 for food vendors and $100 for non-food vendors. We have a few vendors who come on a part time basis, as well for $10-20 per diem until they reach the maximum cost. We also require an insurance rider on the business policy (sometimes free, sometimes a small fee, depending on the company providing the insurance). We accept a specific number of vendors in each major product category (fruit, vegetables, meat, poultry, dairy products, baked goods, homemade food, wines, specialty products, crafts, etc.) based on how many customers on average shop at our market. We limit the vendors in each category so that we have 1) a good product mix for our customers and also 2) so that each of our vendors will sell enough products to continue to stay with our market. There are also specific guidelines from Montco Health Department that vendors must comply with. They differ according to the product line. Vendors interested in our market can check our website to see what vendors we currently have who sell in their categoryhttp://collegevillefarmersmarket.org/ and then e-mail Maureen at farmersmarket@collegevilledevelopment.org or call her at (609) 425-4713 to see if there are any openings.
