Election Day in Pennsylvania is Tuesday– and Patch is providing our readers with a look at the candidates running for office locally.
Josh Embree is running for re-election as the Lower Frederick Tax Collector. Here is his candidate questionnaire:
Name: Josh Embree
Running for: Tax Collector of Lower Frederick Township
Party Affiliation: Republican
Positions previously held: Township Auditor 1998-2004. Republican Committeeman 2006-2013. Tax Collector 2004 – 2013
Why are you running for office? I am running for re-election because I enjoy the job and feel that I do it well. It is a privilege to meet the residents of the township and it is my goal to provide them with good service.
What are the biggest issues facing your community? The biggest tax issue at the local level is the school property tax. The tax collector does not have a vote on the tax rates but I am an advocate for the taxpayer and do everything I can to influence the school administrators to embrace responsible policies that result in the lowest cost for the taxpayers.
If elected, what do you hope to accomplish? If re-elected, I hope to continue to provide excellent service to the residents of LowerFrederick and to represent them with the taxing authorities in order for fair treatment.
Interesting fact about you: I play goalie for a men’s roller hockey team.
