Where/When: , 1146 Stump Hall Road, Collegeville; June 4, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why go: The Second Annual Fore the Troops Golf Outing benefits Treats for Troops, an organization that sends care packages to servicemen and women around the world.

Pricing: $400 per foursome, includes scramble outing with shotgun start, continental breakfast, buffet lunch and beverage, contest holes plus designative driver and "beat the pro"

Where/When: Green Lane Park, 2144 Snyder Road, Green Lane; June 4, 9 a.m.

Why go: Due to budget cutbacks, Green Lane Park no longer has the resources to maintain its trail system, so Bikeworks and the Montgomery Chapter of the Pennsylvania Equine Council are enlisting your help. Meet at the Red Trail Parking Lot on Knight Road and spend an hour, or the whole day, helping out. Bring shovels, rakes, picks or saws. No power tools.

Pricing: $20 in advance, $25 at the door

Where/When: Collegeville Fire House, 29 E. Fifth Ave., Collegeville; June 4, 2 to 5 p.m.

Why go: Eat in or take out. Beat the heat, and let your local firefighters do the cooking in this yummy fundraiser!

Pricing: $9 each, includes half a chicken and sides

Where/When: Avalanche Salon & Spa, 504 W. Main St., Collegeville; June 5, 1 to 4 p.m.
Why go:
In celebration of its fifth anniversary, the salon and spa invites the public for complimentary refreshments, aromatherapy hand massages, blow dry for hair, chair massages, facial consultations and mini-makeup applications.
