Former Skippack Financial Advisor Director Named Pa. Pension Fund Chair

Glenn Becker will lead the State Employees' Retirement System, thanks to an appointment from Governor Tom Corbett.

Governor Tom Corbett has appointed a former director of Skippack Investment Advisors as the Chairman of the State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS).

Glenn Becker will help to set the investment policy and objectives to manage the SERS fund, which has total assets of $25.3 billion from employee and employer contributions throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

"Glenn Becker has a great record of fiscal responsibility in Pennsylvania," Corbett said in a press release. "I am confident in Glenn's ability to perform the duties of this position to the highest of standards."

Becker currently is employed by the Swarthmore Group of Philadelphia. In addition to his position with Skippack Investment Advisors, now located in Blue Bell, Becker worked at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Miller, Anderson & Sherrerd and Providence Capital Management.

"Glenn brings a significant record of accomplishment in developing strong fiscal plans," Corbett said. "I am very pleased to have his expertise in leading our State Employees' Retirement System."
