Your Ideas Here: Office Space Available

Tell us what should go in this Schwenksville spot

This week's spot in on Main Street/Route 29 in Scwhenksville.

The building offers space for rent and/or lease, with the sign noting this place can serve a medical facility or office.

What kind of business would be a boon to the community?

What medical facility would benefit the residents?

I'm not 100% certain but I believe this has sat vacant for 10 years at least. I have followed all of the " what should we put here" postings on The Patch and have noticed most are related to one store/restaurant or another. Thats great when people have the money to spend and the buissnes has enough financial stability to ride out the first few years since historically it takes years for a new buissnes to start showing a profit. Now, back to what used to be the old Renningers. In all the time it has sat vacant the taxes, maintenance, and a small amount of utilities had to be paid. During all this time would it not have been possible to turn this building over to MCCC or one of the other " higher learning centers" in the area for G.E.D classes, Computer training, ECE classes, the list goes on....It's all good and fine to say " lets have a Trader Joe's" or " How about an Outback?" but that only works for the people who already have disposable income. We don't need another Ringers where something opens up to a bunch of hype than closes in under a year.

Take a breath Ann. Now, back to what should open up in this Schwenksville spot. I think it should be a night club, featuring say......punk bands. Kinda like The Clash Bar in Clifton, NJ. We need something like that around here to give the town some spark. In addition, I would have a place to get hammered at within walking distance. Right now I have to drink & drive because there's nothing close when I wanna get down & party.

It could become a branch of a physical therapy operation, or a satellite of a pediatric practice. Both of those existed in the Zieglerville building to which the former occupant of this space relocated, and it would be a convenience to Valley residents to have those types of offices here again.

Possibly a gym, or a day care center. WHY in gods name would the borough want a nightclub right IN town?

blind dog had a good point of ipening a place like the clash bar. also ,who says this needs to be served as a medical office?. why not open a produce stand or a home and garden center like the old Gaudios . Or being that Montgomery County has a majority of gun permit holders, perhaps open an indoor shootung range with a gun store. it mifht even be served as a specialty food store. Maybe a Kosher deli or some kind of Whole Fpods store. Im sure whatever goes in will be met with opposition by the boroufh government as they do not like to see any businesses succeed in their borough. Well that is , they want businesses to,succeed but only ones they have their grasp on or in. sadly though, this location will remain empty for another five years and eventually fall prey to vandals. Sad but true.

and Ann, that is exactly the point tbe borough would not want a nightclub in their town. Why would they want any successful business here. It seems as though the borough council seeks to profit greatly if the property values in this area are devalued.
