YMCA to Break Ground on New Upper Perkiomen Facility

A formal groundbreaking will occur at the Kistler-Bitting Park in East Greenville Tuesday.

The Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA will kick off construction on the new Upper Perkiomen YMCA on Tuesday.

More than 100 members from the community will join State Representative March Toepel, State Senator Bob Mensch and other officials will be on hand to celebare the new facility, which will serve roughly 20,000 people and 5,000 households.

The new YMCA, which will create 200 new jobs, will replace the current Pottstown Avenue facility. It will feature a 2-story atrium-style grand lobby, three pools, a sauna and whirlpool and four group exercise studios.

“Each day, people in our communities trust the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA with their health and well-being. At the Y, we serve and support our members every step of the way. In order to serve and impact more community members, we are bringing a new state-of-the-art facility to the Upper Hanover Township,” said John Flynn, President & CEO of the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA.
