St. Eleanor Parish to Hold Food Drive this Weekend

All donations will be distributed locally.

 

St. Eleanor Parish is holding its third annual food drive after masses on Feb. 2 and 3, which will benefit local food pantries.

Collections, manned by young people from the Confirmation Class, Giving in Faith for Teens (G.I.F.T) and the Parish Religious Education Program (P.R.E.P), will be held at the parish, located at 647 Locust Street in Collegeville, after 5:15 p.m. mass on Feb. 2, and after masses beginning at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12 Noon and 7 p.m. on Feb. 3.

All donations will benefit the St. Vincent DePaul Society Food Pantries in Collegeville and Schwenksville, and Project Outreach in Royersford.

Suggested donations include rice, canned fruit, soup, beans, peanut butter and jelly, canned meats, canned meals, desserts and snacks, boxed potatoes, pancakes mix ad syrup, juice, coffee and tea, condiments, salad dressings, macaroni and cheese, boxed cereal, pasta, spaghetti sauce and canned vegetables, as well as gift cards to local grocery stores.

The church is also in need of empty sturdy boxes. Giant of Limerick donated 1000 grocery bags, but items can also be brought in other bags from home.
