Merle Norman Returns to Skippack Village Building After Fire

The business was displaced for nearly four months while the building at 4007 Skippack Pike was repaired after a two-alarm fire in May.

Four months after a two-alarm fire displaced Merle Norman Cosmetics from its location in Skippack Village, owner Jean Curtis re-opened the shop on Tuesday, after setting up at a temporary location during the re-build.

Just hours before Skippack's planned First Friday celebration on May 3, a fire ripped through the building at 4007 Skippack Pike, reportedly caused by a pile of mulch behind the building.

After the fire, Curtis said it was a "knock down, not a knock out," and set up shop next to Skippack Pizza, before closing both locations over Labor Day Weekend and opening to the public Tuesday.

"The store is BEA-U-TIFUL and we're so happy to be back 'home'," Curtis said on Facebook.
