It's Time for Battle of the Cupcakes

The entire community is invited to join in this contest to find the best cupcakes in the Valley.

It's cupcake-vs-cupcake in Perkiomen Valley's first Battle of the Cupcakes. The event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at .

The theme, "Night at the Movies," offers both bakers and decorators a chance to compete in the following categories:

  • Cupcake Decor in a Mosaic - multiple cupcakes decorated together
  • Cupcake Decor Individual - single cupcakes decorated alike
  • Taste - for cupcakes made from scratch
  • Healthy- nutrition table required
  • Gluten-Free Cupcake

Submitted cupcakes are to be decorated in the theme of "Night at the Movies" and they must have a list of ingredients to be judged.

There are separate entry categories and requirements for students, adult/groups, sponsors, and schools. Businesses, bakeries, surrounding schools (such as Pope John Paul II High School, St. Eleanor School, Spring-Ford School District) are all welcome to enter the contest.

The public is invited to watch the competition, and cupcakes will be available for purchase following the judging.

All proceeds benefit Perkiomen Valley East Home and School. For more details, and a registration form, visit Battle of the Cupcakes 2011. Submit entry forms by Oct. 28.

Feel free to contact Patti at patricia.m.scaramuzzo@lmco.com or Denise at dinno4@gmail.com if you have any questions.

This is going to be a super fun and very delicious event! My daughter and her friends are entering some gluten free cupcakes... there will be healthy entries like low fat and vegan, too! Hope to see you at this community event.
