Food and Fun at Trappe Barn Dance
A sea of cowboy hats and plaid shirts filled the Trappe Fire Company Saturday night.
More than 150 people attended the first annual Trappe Barn Dance on Saturday, Nov. 12. The fiddlers tightened their strings and the dance caller barked "promenade your partner, swing your corner, do-si-do" as dozens packed the dance floor. Many neighbors took the opportunity to catch up with one another over a dinner of roast beef sandwiches and homemade soups.
Trappe Borough Manager Jacqui Guenther organized the event and also showcased her culinary creativity at the dessert bar where barnyard cake pops, brownie-skirted dancing ladies and cowlicious cupcakes were enjoyed by all. Wine tasting, beer and soft drinks were also available. Area businesses donated raffle baskets and all proceeds from the evening were split between the Trappe Fire Company and Trappe Today and Tomorrow.
