Wildlife artist and illustrator, Steven Shachter of Trappe, will be the opening visual artist for A Little Night Music in an exhibit titled “Art of Nature” at the Community Music School, 775 West Main Street in Trappe with an artist reception of wine and cheese on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 7PM.  FREE.  The exhibit runs October 13, 2012 – November 3, 2012.

A professional artist for thirty years, Steven Shachter, echoes his passion for wildlife through his paintings.  His fascination for the inhabitants of the rain forest and oceans of the world was inspired by his work in an animal orphanage in the Peruvuian Amazon fifteen years ago.  Currently, he focuses on the plight of two of nature’s most vulnerable creatures:  sharks and amphibians.  Mr. Shachter has been honored by President Clinton as the official United States Government (N.O.A.A.) poster artist for the United Nations’ Year of the Oceans.  In addition, his works have been featured products for many organizations including National Wildlife Federation, Nature conservatory and Rainforest Alliance.

As is the custom with “A Little Night Music”, each artist reception is followed by a professional concert in Ingrid Larsen Evans Hall at 8:00PM.   Sure to be an unforgettable performance, Sonic Escape will captivate the audience with their program.  The incredible scope of Sonic Escape’s presentations is made possible by a rare mastery of their instruments and their commitment to inspiring, entertaining, and educating audiences.  Concert tickets priced from $16 to $18 can be purchased online at http://www.cmsmusic.org/little-night-music or reserved in advance by calling 610-489-3676.  Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.

Now in its seventh season, the “A Little Night Music” concert series presents rising young stars and artists of international renown as well as performing artists from its own highly talented faculty.   Community Music School, a non-profit organization, provides instrumental and vocal music instruction to students of all ages and levels of ability without regard to their particular background or ability to pay.
