The Methacton High School Warrior Marching Band nearly completed the upset of the year in the Cavalcade of Bands Liberty Conference Championships in Hershey,
Pennsylvania earlier this month. Of seventeen bands competing in two
divisions, Methacton came in second place behind Hatboro-Horsham by a
mere 0.65 points. In addition, Methacton was named the Liberty
Conference Most Improved Band for 2012!
This year's field show, titled "As One on Windy Hill" was written in
celebration of the 50th anniversary of the dedication of Methacton HS
and includes musical motifs of the Methacton Alma Mater. The 61 students
have rehearsed since the summer in an effort to improve their musical
and movement skills in preparation for this weekend's Cavalcade
Championships. The seven senior members of the band received the awards
in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd. Last year, Methacton came in
sixth place in the American Conference.
