Wet Weather Calls For A Lousy Leap Day
This day only comes once every four years - and it will be a wet and messy one.
As an undergraduate attending Penn State University, an extra day of classes from the Leap Year of 2012 is a little bit disappointing.
To make things worse I can now expect dark, gloomy and wet weather for the entire day into tomorrow.
Depending on your location, some wintry precipitation may be possible in the early morning. The more north you are, for example in Lehigh Valley, some sleet and freezing rain could start around the morning commute.
Rain will quickly take over and may be heavy at times during the afternoon. The high temperatures will be a bit cooler than the previous days in the lower 40s. The winds will stay relatively calm blowing from the east-southeast.
Tonight will be cool and calm with some lingering showers. The temperatures will be in the upper 30s with an east-northeast wind.
The first day of March comes in like a lamb, with light showers still hanging around, especially during the morning commute.
The high temperatures will be a little warmer peaking into the lower 50s. The winds may become a little breezy during the late afternoon from the west at 10-15 mph.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected tomorrow night with cooler temperatures in the low- to mid-30s.
Friday will be the nicest day of the week as the sun tries its best to pop out. There will be partly sunny skies with high temperatures in the low to mid 50's. The southernly winds may bring in some moist warm air and may become stronger in the afternoon at around 15-20 mph.
During Friday night, clouds are expected to roll in as some showers may develop. The temperatures will be warmer in the lower 40s and the southernly winds will continue to blow strong at around 10-15 mph.
Have a safe trip home to any college students beginning their spring break! To everyone else, just be thankful it's the weekend!
