Update: Man Arrested Following Lower Frederick Shooting

One victim has been shot and is now hospitalized. SWAT had the suspect surrounded in a Lower Frederick home.

 

Update 12:34 a.m.: A source familiar with the ongoing investigation has told Patch that the alleged shooter, tentatively identified as Stephen Jacobs, has been apprehended by authorities.

The Pottstown Mercury has cited "witnesses near the scene" in describing the situation as a domestic dispute.

Patch will continue to update this story as additional information becomes available.

State and local police have descended on a Lower Frederick home near Fulmer Road and Riverside Avenue after reports of at least one victim shot and an armed suspect barricaded inside.

One shooting victim is confirmed, and the unidentified person has been taken to an area hospital according to Lower Frederick police officer Roland Walker. SWAT has the home surrounded.

State and local police are still on the scene as well as county law enforcement and SWAT. The suspect has not been apprehended at this point.
