An Allentown man’s car hit the front of Collegeville Borough Hall after he suffered a medical emergency while driving west in the 400 block of Main Street, Monday evening, March 12, according to a Pennsylvania State Police report.
Michael Higgins, 40, lost control of the vehicle – a 2005 Ford Taurus – which then traveled in a “U-turn fashion, striking the concrete curb and sidewalk along East Fifth Avenue and Main Street,” the police report states.
The car entered the municipal building’s parking lot, police said, “(impacting) a traffic sign and the right corner and center of the building, where it came to a final rest,” according to the report.
A U.S. Post Office box was also damaged in the crash.
Trappe EMS transported Higgins to the hospital for treatment, police said.
Collegeville Police and Fire Company also responded to the scene; DeWane’s Towing removed the vehicle.
Higgins will not face charges in connection to the crash.
