Multi-Vehicle Crash in Lower Frederick Township

No major injuries are reported, according to early reports.

Two people involved were taken to a local hospital for observation following a four-vehicle crash in Lower Frederick Monday morning, according to early reports. No major injuries were reported

The crash—which a preliminary investigation describes as a "chain reaction"—occurred near 118 Big Road/Route 73 in Lower Frederick around 7:30 a.m. A school bus was traveling when it stopped to pick up students headed to . Two cars, which were headed east, were stopped as the bus collected its passengers. A third car headed down the road reportedly was not stopping in time, early reports state. The driver of the second stopped car reportedly tried to pull out of the oncoming car's path, but the three cars still collided, reports state. The car that had tried to move "sideswiped" the bus, but the state police describe the damage as very minor, "an exchange of paint."

No school children were reported injured. West Principal Ryan Stanson-Marsh came to the scene.

The portion of Big Road was blocked to traffic as crews investigated and subsequently cleared the scene.

In addition to the Pennsylvania State Police, . and , Upper Salford Fire Co. and Gilbertsville Area Community Service Ambulance responded to the scene. Dave's Auto Body towed the vehicles, which suffered a range of damage from moderate to heavy.
