Trappe Today and Tomorrow to Host Second Annual Tree Lighting
On Wednesday, December 5 at 6:30, Trappe Today and Tomorrow will host its second annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the Speaker's House. The evening will begin with caroling provided by the Perkiomen Valley High School Chorus, Perkiomen Valley Middle School students and a brass ensemble from the Community Music School. Refreshments will be served by Boy Scout Troop 7155, and Santa's helpers, also known as the Collegville Rotary Club, will be on hand with candy canes!
This year's tree will be a Douglas Fir graciously transported by Varner's Farm and purchased by Justin Bartolomucci of Edward Jones in Trappe. It will be decorated with ornaments hand-made by Ms. Singer's PV South Elementary art students. Trappe Mayor Connie Peck will have the honor of lighting the tree and Santa is scheduled to arrive on a fire truck.
The Speaker's House is located at 151 West Main Street, Trappe (across from the Trappe Shopping Center). Donations of nonperishable food items and pet food will be accepted for local food pantries and the SPCA. Rain date is December 6, 2012.
