Support Groups for Grieving Children, Teens and Families

The Center for Loss and Bereavement in Skippack, Pa. offers the following services to those of the community who are grieving: professional counceling, support groups and grief education programs. Their family bereavement program, Nello's Corner, is designed to provide ongoing peer group support to children, ages 4-18, and their families, who have experienced the loss of a parent, sibling or other loved one.

Twice a month, age-specific groups meet, sharing play, activities and conversation with others whose lives have been touched by a death. At the same time, parents or guardians are encouraged to meet together to gain insight on how to support a grieving child. The groups can provide connection, solace, and hope. Nello's Corner is coordinated by experienced staff and specially trained volunteers.

While donations are greatly appreciated, there is no charge to the families who participate in this program. Groups for all ages, as well as a loss of sibling group are currently offered. Those interested are invited to call 610-222-4115 for further information about this program or any of the other services offered by the Center.
