PV Raiders American Legion takes out Whitemarsh, 6-2

The Raiders beat Whitemarsh 6-2 in seven innings on Saturday at Perk Valley behind John Turner, who drove in four runs.

He tripled in the fifth inning and singled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Gabe Kolb worked out of five tricky spots for the Raiders. He pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed no earned runs on no hits. Kolb faced his toughest moment in the sixth inning.

Trent Tyson recorded the win for the Raiders. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered four hits.

Whitemarsh jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. PlayerA got things going for Whitemarsh with a single. A single by PlayerB then moved PlayerA from first to third.

The lead stayed with the Raiders after the fifth, when they scored four runs on an error, a two-run triple by Turner, and a wild pitch.
